The Government Opportunities Excellence in Public Procurement Awards aim to recognise the achievements and commitment of all those involved in the delivery of public services, from the public, private and third sectors.

For 2008, the number of categories has been increased to nine, in order to better reflect the diversity of the public procurement sector.
