In a glittering, grand finale to Scotland’s Day of Procurement, the Winners and Highly Commended entrants for the Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Scotland 2015/16 were announced at a sold-out black-tie ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow on Tuesday 6 October 2015.

Hosted by TV presenter Sarah Heaney, the awards were the climax to a full day of procurement excellence, which kicked off earlier that morning at Procurex Scotland Live 2015 at the SECC in Glasgow.

All this year’s entries were recently reviewed by a panel of nine judges comprising experts in UK procurement and commissioning, including Ainslie McLaughlin, Director of Procurement and Commercial at the Scottish Government, and Julie Welsh, Director at Scotland Excel.

“This award is great recognition for the teamwork and the effort that’s been put in to do something real. We’ll take this model we’ve developed and help apply it across the prison service.”
